Output Introduction:
Grade 11-Vygotsky’s groups are tasked by their teacher in 21st Century Literature, Mr. Roseo T. Caburian, Jr., to choose a literary piece, may it be a song, movie, short story, or a poem, whichever they want. Then, they have to adapt that piece into another form in which its actual message or plot, despite the difference in presentation, will still be understandable by the readers/viewers/listeners.
Along with Mr. Caburian on this integration activity are Mrs. Jessica Ngeteg of Oral Communication and Mr. Randy Palabay of Practical Research.
Below is Groups 2's output which is chosen to be included in this particular section of this website:

Group 2's Introduction:
Our chosen literary piece was the song “Saranggola ni Pepe” by Celeste Legaspi. The type of literary criticism we chose to analyze this particular piece was historical criticism. We chose this type because the time the song was written is during the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos. And the song, despite its bright and joyful music and lyrics, has a hidden message directed to that particular time period. It is during Marcos’ presidency when media properties, especially those of ABS-CBN and ABC, were sequestered with the help of the Marcos-signed Letter of Instruction No. 1-A due to alleged conspiracy against the government; those people who are considered a threat are arrested; and rallies and demonstrations are prohibited, among others, that will then lead to the first People Power Revolution that happened on February 22-25, 1986. Legaspi also added a single line, “Dumaan ang jeepney at gumuhit pa sa kalye,” implying that Marcos justified imposing Martial Law by showing people how the industry gets better during its imposition.
